This event to take place on Dec. 15th (6th night of Hanukkah) will screen the movie “Trembling Before G-d” and will feature a moderated discussion with director, Sandi DuBowski, and an audience Q&A. “Trembling Before G-d” debuted 20 years ago; the focus of the conversation will be how has Judaism changed in the last 20 years with respect to LGBT inclusion and what are future challenges.
To ensure audience involvement, we will include polls for the audience to share their experience and perspective. Since the event will occur during Chanukkah, we will have a communal Menorah lighting. In order to foster a sense of community, we will start the evening off with a virtual icebreaker.
The event targets the LGBTQ community and allies in the Baltimore area. By examining the historical perspective and discussing current challenges, we hope to ignite ideas and action to make the LGBTQ community in Baltimore more accepting.
